Wayfinding
MD Anderson Cancer Center Access Wayfinding System
During the early 2000s while at fd2s, an environmental graphic design firm in Austin, Texas, I led the design research, information, and interaction design of a new wayfinding system for MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. I also led the design of a wayfinding management system that enables the signs to stay updated and accurate.
At fd2s, I led the design of standardized typographic templates for typical sign types in a wayfinding program. St. David’s Hospitals in Austin, Texas were the first institution to use them. See fd2s for a project description and comprehensive examples of the exterior and interior wayfinding system.
St. David’s Healthcare
The complex wayfinding program for MD Anderson Cancer Center inspired a new service that I co-created at fd2s called Integrated Wayfinding Solutions.
IWS programs included comprehensive research to understand building conditions and visitor needs, prototyping and testing, physical signs and printed information, maps and directions, and maintenance solutions.

Moffitt Cancer Center Wayfinding System
Also at fd2s, I co-led the design of the Integrated Wayfinding System for Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida.
