Transit
In the early 2000s, I worked with fd2s, an environmental graphic design firm in Austin, Texas, to lead a strategic project helping the city transit authority, Capital Metro, develop best practices and guiding principles for its growing system. We used ethnographic research to understand rider and non-rider experiences and translate those findings into strategic policy and programs.
Capital Metro Great Customer Care Program
New transit stop signs for the City of Austin were a product of the Capital Metro Great Customer Care Program. While at fd2s, I led the sign system design and worked with our team to prototype and test signs at a bus stop.

Capital Metro Rapid Bus Branding
I led the design of a new transit service mode for Capital Metro called Rapid Bus—high-capacity, high-frequency buses that travel North and South in the city.
Capital Metro Rapid Bus Signage Design Study
The Rapid Bus program also included branded signage that linked the service branding with signage and stops. I led the system information design.
Capital Metro Rapid Bus Transit Stop Design Study
Our work included reference design studies for various transit stop types. Each design considered different city conditions and presented a family of solutions.
